Vintage Rodenstock 300mm Imagon Large Format Camera Soft Focus Lens
For your consideration: Lens is in nice condition overall for its age. The lens serial number is #3434914; with a Compound Shutter, and mounted on a 5-1/4″ lens board.Glass is clear with the normal dust and cleaning marks that accompany a lens of this vintage. The lens barrel does have some dings and wear marks on the rear from being placed into the camera over the years. The lens front is in nice condition other than some wear marks and scratches on the “M-B-T” setting. The aperture opens up smoothly, but is a little tight stopping down; probably from lack of use. The blades do not bind. The shutter works works in the “B” & “T” settings. When 1st checked, “B” was sluggish, but as shutter was opened and closed worked as it should. The shutter operates at all speeds, but the slower speed 1/5-1/1 are off; again probably from a lack of use. As the shutter was fired the speed settings worked a little better but at times were erratic. Lens can be used as is for soft focus photography and can be serviced for better accuracy. I have no way to test shutter speeds. The lens has the flash sync but I do not have a way to test to see if flash sync is working.
The lens comes with all the discs; (5.8-7.7), (7.7-9.5), (9.5-11.5); the Rodenstock 2x Yellow ND Filter; Lens shade; and front lens cover. All components fit together as they should and appear to be in nice condition. There is not a storage box for the lens, discs, and accessories.
