Just a spectacular fancy “walnut” (not oak) Koken chair that should be done up!
I’ve owned probably 400 early wooden barber shop chair over the years & this is the one I kept for myself planning to fully restore but no time unfortunately!
The walnut itself is gorgeous without any typical gouges so it’s the upholstery that will have to be done!
Absolutely nothing missing on this chair & no typical cracks or missing cast on the extended foot rest!
Headrest is intact!
Lot of brass trim on this chair!
The brass manufacturer’s tag on the backside is intact & reads “Jones Bros. Toronto” who had the sole rights to sell Koken products in Canada including barber chairs & barber shop back bars!
The back side of this chair is “turned” NOT flat as with virtually all of these chairs!
The shape of the “sides” of this chair is special!!
The base on this chair is just gorgeous with heavy brass trim all of which is intact!
Guaranteed this barber shop chair was made for a high end Hotel barber shop which is why so few surface!
This will be a “pick up” or arrangements can be made!
